Except, as far as Nathan was concerned, she would and had done things that intentionally hurt family. Even beyond the explosion, she had told Parkman to shoot Peter, her child, rather than have faith in Peter, have faith in him to get through to Peter. But he didn't say it, instead he focused on her last statement. If she was telling the truth, then he could give her some truth in return – and if she was lying, he would still give her the truth because he had nothing to hide about what he was going to say.
"I can't speak for everyone – or, I won't," he amended, folding his hands in front of him as he looked down at them. "But I'll tell you what I want. I want my family to be together and better than it was before, to put each other first every time instead of political agendas or Company agendas or repetitions of mistakes and lies over and over again. That's what I want."
It wasn't just aimed at her, it was aimed inward too, as his faults were among those named.
