Lindsey glanced over at Charlie as Drake mentioned how long it had been since he had seen one of 'her' kind. He was priviliged to that information, her paternity, but the statement surprised him. Could he actually sense who she was?
So far he had surpassed Lindsey's expectations on the father of all vampires. Even the Master would be hard pressed to demonstrate the abilities that Drake had so far. But it still left the question as to vulnerabilities: did he have them? It was a difficult question to segue into.
The transformation earned a slightly impressed look from Lindsey. It was the smoothest transition from man to demon and back again he had ever witnessed. But there was no fear, no wonderment, just the weary approval of a man seeing something new when he thought he had seen it all.
When the knock came, Lindsey glanced at his watch. He almost wondered if an appointment had come early when the familiar, delicious scent of Antonio's pizza wafted into the room. Lindsey shut and stacked some of the files, pushing them out of the way for Charlie to set the pizza down.
In a way, working with Charlie made him remember the days that seemed like decades ago, when he'd worked side by side with Lilah. In a way, she reminded him of Lilah, her good points at least. She had been a formidable partner and foe all in one, though he and Charlie seemed to have a better working alliance while the foe aspect remained unexamined.
As she spoke with Drake, Lindsey picked up his phone and dialed in the extension for one of the firm's many departments. He kept his voice low to keep the disturbence to a minimum. "I need a search run for an Abigail Whistler. Anything and everything you can find." He hung up the phone, returning his attention to the conversation.
