Faith half laughed, with a partly guilty and partly impish look in her eyes. "She's a good Slayer," she finally said. "And a good friend. She did try with me, to be fair, even if she did put me in a coma one time."
She was quiet as he told her some of his past, or what little he remembered of it.
"What do you do?" She asked, still quiet. "When you feel like you're gonna snap? When the memories, or half memories or whatever get too much?" She stubbed out her cigarette in the ash tray before toying with another. "sometimes I still feel like I'm gonna snap. Recently... I nearly killed B, again. The one here in the hotel doesn't seem to be from that time, but the one I met up with just before I came here..." she half smirked, half shrugged. "Words were exchanged. Also, fists. I wanna make things ok with her, I just don't know if I ever can."
She felt kinda awkward and embarrassed, and yet still pleased when he said he could trust her. She blushed slightly and flashed him a small smile. "Thanks. And thanks for the over protectiveness even though it's totally not needed. It's still appreciated."
She did have to laugh at one point. "Not much point in going for the long term committed thing when Slayers don't tend to live all that long anyway. I'm mostly get some, get gone. As for slivers of humanity..." she trailed off, shaking her head slightly. "When I went back to Sunnydale, after Angelus, it was to fight this thing called the First Evil. It would appear as dead people and it came to me as Rich-... Mayor Wilkins. And fuck me, I wanted so badly for it really to be him, even after everything, even though he was evil. He told me he loved me, told me he was proud of me. I kinda missed that after he died." She was quiet again for a moment before shaking herself out of it and grinning back at him.
"Good, glad to hear it. I actually like you so I'd hate to have to kill you you know."
