With Sarah's eyes locked on his, it was easy to ignore the babbling of the Goblin King. He listened to her words, and when she smiled, so light and brief and sweet, Peter returned the look. His smile deepened at her words - a knight in a hotel - and one hand drifted to cup her jaw in his palm.
He let her say her piece to Jareth, but when she seemed finished, he gently turned her face back to him and leaned in to her, pressing a kiss to her lips. He'd thought he would be hard-pressed to love her more, but after hearing her so decisively reject Jareth, despite her fear, and the affirmation that she wanted this, wanted him, proved that thought wrong.
He kissed her gently, lips brushing teasingly at hers, first the lower, then the upper, the left corner, the right corner. Then he rested his forehead against hers, smiling lightly. "I love you, Sarah."
