It was more than a relief to Xander when Peter showed up, ready and willing to take on the door for him. As soon as the entrance was free, Xander dashed down the dark steps and into the basement below. He felt along the wall for a light, flipped it on, and watched as the darkness flooded away. Then it suddenly fell into his line of vision: a cage. One that held his best friend who, in Xander's own opinion, did not look so well.
"Will!" He dashed forward at once, fingers grabbing onto the steel bars that held the cage together. "Hey! We're gonna get you out of here, all right? Just..." He reached down and tugged at a large set of chains that wrapped themselves around the door. Chains that were also, unfortunately, sealed with a lock. "...hang on a sec." Xander quickly turned away from the cage and dashed to the foot of the stairs. "Hey, Peter! Can you come down here and work your mojo real fast? She's sealed in this cage and I can't get the lock open!" That said, Xander dashed back toward Willow and grasped onto the bars again. "Hang on," he repeated. "Peter's gonna open this stupid thing for you. And then you, me, and the Buffster are going out for pizza, all right?" He frowned a little, taking in her appearance. Not so good. "...after you rest up. And maybe have a strong drink or two."
Upstairs, the demon took Buffy's hits with pleasure. Sam's body protested against every blow, but he merely stood there and took them as they came. Then he glanced over his shoulder at the new arrival - Faith, the other Slayer - and grinned.
"Now this," he started, eyes growing darker as he raised his hands up to his sides, "Should be fun." The ground began to tremble below them, and then the walls quickly followed suit. Everything within the room began to rattle and shake, but none of it moved in a manner that would threaten either Buffy or Faith's lives. The demon wanted to do this the right way. He wanted to get physical.
So he lunged forward at Buffy, figuring that since she was the first who started swinging that she should at least be the first to go down as well. Arm moving back, he aimed a blow at her face, his strength amounting to double what it would have normally been if it were just Sam attacking her. He then threw an arm out and a large mirror, which had been sitting on top of a dust ridden dresser, went flying across the room at Faith.
And then he started to swing at Buffy again, one hand digging into the waist of his jeans in order to pull out the knife that he had found on the Winchester boy when he had possessed him.
