Had it not been for the sound of her husband's voice, Zira might very well have sat in that alley for quite some time. Confused and becoming more alarmed with each passing second, it was ultimately Cornelius calling her name that made her once more look up to acknowledge her surroundings.
"Cornelius?" she gasped, rising quickly to her feet and turning her gaze toward the mouth of the alley in time to see him come into view. It was him! With a smile born of relief and made of pure love, she quickly moved toward him and embraced him tightly.
"Oh, Cornelius, what's going on here? Where are we?" She had to force herself from asking anymore questions in such a rush, instead pressing a kiss to his mouth before resting her forehead gently against his own. "This is all so very confusing..."
