"I could say the same for half the people in this hotel," Spike responded.
He rolled his eyes. "Look. Cordelia? She's nice and all. But when it comes down to it, if Angel gets back to himself and heads back to the happy hotel? It's not Cordelia that he's going to set his sights on. You're not the one that's gonna need to be protecting his girl. I am." Spike folded his arms over his chest and scowled a little. "See. Buffy? Kind of a love interest that he's never going to get over. And I don't know much about how she's going to react if he comes back either, but if she had to choose between me and him, there's about a million people in the world who'd say..." Spike pointed off in the distance. "Hey you! Don't go for the one who went and got his soul for you! Go for the pansy with the big forehead and angst issues! Come on! Do it!" Lowering his arm, Spike shook his head slowly and said, "I think it would be in both of our best interests if we just offed him the second we run into him, yeah? I don't want to lose Buffy to him. Because I'm better for her. And I'm just better in general."
Spike followed him into the club and surveyed the area. "Nice," he commented. He wasn't worried about breaking any laws. That'd be his very last concern. "Peter? Oh. It's a long story. Basically comes down to power positions, him being a moron. That sort of thing."
