"Do you have a holo I can watch?"
Padmé smiled down at the girl beside her, nodding her head at the question. It was the last, thus far, in a series that had been tossed at her since the moment she'd left The Sanctuary with Allana. She had agreed to watch her for the day while Jacen took care of a few other matters and, after spending a rather enjoyable morning listening to the girl talk about all sorts of things, had finally decided to take a break in preparing the opening of the shelter and return home. Anakin would be there, she knew, and she had a feeling that spending some quality time with Allana would definitely serve to put a smile on his face as it had done to hers. After all, no matter how much Jacen might want to hide the fact, it was clear the girl was his daughter, thereby making her their great-granddaughter. And while Jaina had long since learned not to underestimate her intelligence, Jacen, apparently, thought his grandmother was an idiot by continuing to lie.
"Yes," she replied aloud to the question as the elevator doors slid open. "It's called a television on this planet, but we have one you can certainly watch."
Allana's eyes grew wide at this, her lips quirked upward into a pleased smile. "Good," she stated happily. "Willow says I watch too much of the ho..." She paused, correcting herself. "Television. But Jedi Jacen says that it's okay, so I think it is." With a definitive nod, she came to an abrupt stop as they reached the door to the penthouse. A nervous expression crossed her face as she glanced up at Padmé.
"What is it, dear?" the former Senator asked, glancing down when the girl stopped walking and seemed to tighten her grip on the hand she was holding. Her brow furrowed in concern. "Is everything alright?"
Swallowing, Allana glanced toward the door then back to Padmé. "You're sure Jedi Jacen won't get mad that I came over?" Her expression grew grave. "I don't want to make him mad."
Smiling reassuringly, Padmé used her free hand to gently ruffle the girl's hair. "Allana," she murmured, "it's perfectly fine. This is my home. No harm will come to you here. I give you my word."
That was all it really took, apparently, because after a second longer she gave a nod of her head and smiled once more. "Okay," she agreed happily enough.
With another smile, Padmé opened the door to the penthouse and stepped inside, Allana still holding on tight to her hand and following close behind. "Anakin?" she called out as she closed the door. "There's someone here to see you."
