For a minute, Cordelia was confused as to his reaction. Her brow furrowed and she tried to figure out why he was hiding behind his suitcase. Then she realized she was still holding the sword and felt a bit chagrined. "Oh," she murmured, heading to the cabinet and placing the weapon inside. "Sorry about that. Um..."
It was unusual, for her to be at a loss for words. This, however, was so far out of the realm of Anywhere Close To Normal for her that she wasn't quite sure what to say, or how to act. He didn't seem threatening, which was good, but part of her almost wished he was. A dangerous monkey-like-ape-thing she could handle. A scared to death one? Not so much.
Still, it was part of her job description to help those in trouble, so that's what she resigned herself to do. Because if there was one thing she could gather from this entire situation, it was that he was clearly very far from home and likely in need of some help.
"I'm not going to hurt you," she assured him, first and foremost. She made no move to approach him, but settled instead for a kind smile and as non-threatening body language as she could manage. "I'm guessing you need some kind of help? Is that why you're here?"
