It hadn't occured to him that she might not know what a zombie was. "Yeah. They die and they're resurrected, living only by magic. Mindless, can't feel pain, and they attack everything in sight, but they make for a good defense system. Nothing escapes unattacked," Lindsey replied, shrugging.
When she commanded the release, Lindsey was about to give the order when the guards did just as she asked. His eyes narrowed slightly in a scrutinizing look and he glanced sideways at her, but his attention soon returned to the demonstration at hand.
And gave him a new insight into zombies. He had always been told they were mindless, wanting nothing more than to feed and kill. But he had never heard of them being broken, still remembering, or actually having emotions.
While the guards stepped back immediately after it was released, afraid of being turned on, Lindsey stood his ground calmly. An amused smirk appeared as he watched the scene, the zombie caught in an invisible net. However, it turned into a slightly wince as the smell of burnt, dead skin wafted under his nose. He'd smelled it before, but it didn't make it any less putrid.
"Please," he replied. "I've yet to see one in action."
