"Oh, I'm sure. Whatever helps you sleep better at night, Slayer." He automatically pressed the button that would lead to his floor. "Dawn it is, then." It only seemed right that Dawn would be the next to see her, what with her being her little sister and all. Besides, Spike really wasn't interested in walking Buffy to either Willow or Xander's rooms. Willow in particular because of what had happened between them. And everyone knew that Spike had never really been a big fan of Xander from day one. Because he's a bloody moron, Spike reminded himself as the elevator shifted gears and they began to lift up to the next floor.
"Now, look, Buffy," Spike started as the doors slid open. "Dawn's got a lot going on with her right now." He was not going to mention the deal that she made with the devil no matter how much he wanted to. And kind of didn't want to at the same time. He got the feeling that Buffy wouldn't be terribly pleased with him when -- or, more importantly, if -- she found out about the deal. He liked staying on her good side, thanks. "So I think maybe you should do some of that sisterly bonding she's so fond of."
