Buffy didn't seem to be having much more luck in keeping her focus at that moment than he was. She couldn't believe what she'd done, telling him all of those things that she'd been holding in for...well, when she really thought about it, it added up to years. But mostly in the last few months had it really begun to get under her skin more than ever before, and she blamed it on his heroic act of selflessness. She truly admired him for that, and it wasn't something she was ever going to forget. But it had also been what caused her to finally realize how much he meant to her. 'You don't know what you've got 'til it's gone' was the truth.
"Painful for you, maybe," Buffy teased as she entered the elevator, holding it's doors until he was inside, as well. "I happen to be very excited about it. You're not the only one I missed, you know." She gave him a wink, at that, then motioned to the panel on the wall. "You pick where we go first. That should ease your pain a bit."
