Satisfied with Spike's response, Buffy let the topic of her departure go. She knew she wasn't going to be leaving, and she also knew that Spike believed her. On many occasions, he was the only one who ever did. She hadn't forgotten about the loyalty he'd shown her when all of the Potentials, even the other Scoobies had wanted Faith as their leader rather than her, and Spike had been the only one to comfort her and show confidence in her. That had meant more to her than she probably even knew herself, more than he knew for sure.
Stopping when he did, Buffy watched him expectantly, though she rolled her own eyes at his response. Before she had a chance to say anything in return, however, Spike went on to address something that they'd been dodging since her return, something that Buffy had been thinking about every day since it happened, even if it was only in passing in the back of her mind. She hadn't forgotten it. She couldn't forget it.
"Spike..." she began with a small sigh. "You... You know I did. After what you did? After everything you did?" A pause, and she wrinkled her nose a bit. "I'm not talking about all the evil stuff, just the good stuff. But there was enough of that to...to make me mean it."
