"We'll have to test him out to see." Heidi replied, encircling him with her arms and matching the closeness and strength with which he hugged her. Peter, the brother she'd always wanted in a house full of female siblings; the wonderful boy who only reinforced the thought that, despite the hardships, and even if it still failed, marrying Nathan had been the best decision she'd ever made.
Dropping her arms a bit, Heidi reinforced her grip, and lifted Peter off the ground. It wasn't far up, given the close difference in height, but he didn't weigh as much as Nathan, and she'd had to lift him more than once. Brotherly baggage in arm, she waddled them both backward to the bed, and set him down on it.
"Ice cream and entertainment!" She announced, taking up the remote and a spoon, which she tossed to him. "Let the bonding begin."
