Kathryn sensed the sarcasm, of course, and while she had a good feeling that it was only being used in jest, she could never really be sure. She knew she herself used sarcasm when she really wanted to reach out and slap the other person in the face, so she had to assume other people did the same. However, she didn't feel that she'd done anything yet to earn that kind of reaction, so she let it slide.
"That's exactly right," she quipped, finishing her cocktail swiftly and setting down the empty glass.
She followed his gaze around the bar, wrinkling her nose at the sight of a few of the patrons who were nearly falling down drunk. They weren't causing any kind of ruckus, but it was clear they were lowlifes with nothing better to do than pass out in a gutter somewhere.
"Agreed. I think we'll be able to find somewhere more exciting then this." And preferably with less scum.
