He didn’t mean anything cruel by what he’d said but Clark was upset with him over it anyway. If it had been Oliver he’d verbally attacked he would have told him to stop it right now and Bart would have backed down, because it’s what he did when Oliver was angry with him. Bart had never told him and he never would, but he respected him as he would respect his father. When he was still back home with his parents, when his dad told him to do something, he did it without putting up a fight or talking back. He did the same exact thing with Oliver Queen. Oliver had taken him in. He’d given him a chance and Bart looked up to him.
Clark, Victor and AC were treated more like brothers and brothers wee supposed to poke fun at each other. The three of them were older than he was. They were adults and he was a kid in more ways than one. Victor and AC had spent more time around him, more than Clark had, so if they were in Clark’s shoes they would’ve teased right back. Public message board or not. Perhaps Clark didn’t know that he was supposed to do that…
He’d insisted that he follow Clark out, wherever he was going. He was told not to. He hadn’t agreed to stay away. Bart was stubborn and if he wanted something bad enough he’d get it one way or another. He ran the length of the city, went through alleys and passed corners until he found what he was looking for. Not slowing down, he went for the vampire and shoved him with such force that he went flying back with a yell of pain and surprise. He landed at Clark’s feet and Bart halted near the former victim.
“I’m useful,” he told Clark right before he took the woman’s arm and looked closely at her neck. She trembled but didn’t try to back away. Bart wasn’t a threat to her and she sensed it. He wasn’t like the vampire. He was warm and alive. He was Human like her.
