"I plan on it," she assured him as she cut off a piece of meat and raised it to her lips. Taking a bite, she chewed slowly as he wagged the knife in her general direction. She knew all of the things he was saying, of course, but it helped to have him remind her of them.
At the rules of Gods part, the elderly woman gasped and turned to give them both a scandelous look. Charlie, in turn, merely arched a brow in her general direction.
A shriek burst from the woman's lips as her skirt caught fire and the man sitting across from her stared in shock for a few seconds before finally tossing his glass of water on her. Another look in her direction - this time one of surprise and fear - and Charlie waggled her fingers and flashed them a sickly sweet sort of smile that was in no way sincere.
She didn't even bother watching as they cleared the area in a veritable blur, instead swallowing her bite of steak and replying to her father, "I know. And I don't intend on playing by their rules for long. Hell, I don't really play by them all that much now. I just give them the appearance that I do."
Cutting another piece of meat, she half-raised it to her mouth before adding casually, "And I want you to meet Lindsey in person. I think the two of you would actually get along." Then she popped the bite into her mouth and busied herself with chewing it while she studied him and waited for his answer.
