Charlie snorted in amusement as the waitress stumbled away, shaking her head a bit. She'd missed her father, and his antics, probably more than she'd even realized. No one could put people on edge quite like he could.
"Yeah, I heard about the truth-telling," she remarked dryly, opting not to comment on Lindsey's name at the moment. She cared for Lindsey, respected him a lot, but she wasn't about to get into an argument with her father in an effort to defend him over his name. "Apparently one of our scientists poisoned the city's drinking supply. Lindsey said it was taken care of, though."
Taking a sip of her water almost on cue, she shrugged a bit and rested her forearms on the edge of the table. She wasn't worried about the truth serum still being in affect. Hell, she didn't have any secrets from her father anyway, even if it was still working.
Her brow furrowed a bit at the comment about everything being silent. "Hmm. Sounds interesting. I suppose that's what Angel Investigations is blaming us for this time around." Another shrug, then she smiled at his expression. She'd missed that smile, had missed talking to him. Around him, she could actually relax and enjoy herself. In this city, especially working for Wolfram & Hart and being as close to its CEO as she was, she didn't have that option with many others.
"Well, then that definitely settles it," she assured him, a bit unnecessarily. "I'm not going anywhere." A brief pause before she added, "Although I'm not quite ready to tell the firm to screw itself just yet. I'm having too much fun doing their dirty work."
More or less. The less part, though, she wasn't going to worry about. She just needed to renegotiate her contract, that's all.
