{Cordelia, Logan, Charlie, Kathy, and Annie}
Cordelia had managed to hold off the first two minions with well-aimed shots from her crossbow. The next handful, however, she simply couldn't reload in time to hit so she'd tossed the weapon aside and had drawn her katana. Another minion fell - not dead but definitely injured in a pretty fatal way. Then came one of the Gentlemen.
And that was when Cordelia realized that attacking them? Did precisely no good whatsoever.
THE HELL?! she just had time to think before yet another minion managed to get the literal jump on her. Tackling her to the ground, it's masked face inches from her own, Cordelia's katana slipped from her grip and slid just out of reach. It didn't matter, though. She was too busy fighting back with her fists, now, a raw sort of fury replacing her cool-headed strategy of 'take them out until someone else gets here to help'. Because Logan was coming. She knew he was. He just needed to get here. Now.
Fingers digging into the creature's eyes caused the thing to leap off of her and she flipped onto her hands and knees, reaching for her katana before realizing her crossbow was closer. A quick scramble, the fastest reload in history and she took aim.
Just in time to realize Kathy was now in the hallway.
Practically diving between the small girl and the Gentlemen who was still gliding toward the child, she pointed with one hand at the doorway across the hall. The room that belonged to little Annie Wheaton. With a sharp look at Kathy that clearly said 'get there now' she didn't even bother to wait to see if the child minded. She instead kept herself between the knife-weilding Gentlemen and his target and raised her crossbow once more - past the Gentlemen since attacking him did no real good anyway - and at the still on-coming wave of minions.
With deadly precision she fired, hitting the one charging at Kathy directly between the eyes. As he fell, she finally noticed someone else joining the fray from the opposite end of the hallway and her lips curved upward into a smile.
It was Logan, thank God. Now maybe they could get rid of these things once and for all.
