Yesterday she had spent her first New Years on Earth, and it had been a lot of fun. Granted she didn't really know anyone at the party she had crashed, but it had been fun all the same. And the whole fireworks display and everyone screaming over a new year had been fun. Sure, she had celebrations on Krypton, but it was different here. It was more primitive in a way, but she was quickly getting over that. She expected and accepted it now. It was kind of nice in a way. It made life more simple. And after the life she had been living, simple seemed kind of nice. Even though where she was now couldn't be described as simple, at least no one was trying to fully destroy the human race...that she knew of anyway.
But tonight was any other night again, and Kara had got off work from her the cafe a few hours ago. Thank god it wasn't open at all hours like some of the other places around here. You could say she was bored. She had yet to actually find Clark or Chloe. She figured she could if she really tried, but Kara just wasn't putting the effort into it. She knew they were around here somewhere, and they were safe it seemed.
You could say she was now looking for trouble. It was late at night, she was walking down some back streets alone, and she wasn't exactly dressed modestly. Kara didn't really seem to grasp the idea of modest, and most of what she wore seemed to show off her body. Maybe she did it because it annoyed Clark. But she really didn't see the point to being modest. It wasn't like many girls did that around here.
She was wondering down the street, hands clasped behind her back when she heard a noise behind her. When she listened carefully, she could hear someone moving. Actually, she could hear three someones, and she couldn't hear a heartbeat. One was at the front of the ally, two were behind her. Kara stopped in her tracks, tilting her head to the side. She glanced over her shoulder, her eyes letting her see perfectly in the darkness. When she glanced back, there was a man who appeared to be just a few years older than her standing in her way. The other two were advancing on her slowly.
Sighing, she turned sideways, so the man at the front of the ally was to her left, the men inside the ally to the front. Well, let the 'game' begin. She really hoped they weren't going to think she was an easy meal. Her skin would probably break their teeth if they even tried to bite her, not that they were going to get that far. "Evening gentlemen, can I help you with something?" she asked curiously. Then she just waited for the first one to attack.
