He watched her from afar, his eyes and senses absorbing her every movement. The weight of her steps, her alerted gaze, the touch to her covered neck...even her scent on the wind. She looked somewhat different from the Mina he remembered, yet it was her. There was no mistaking it.
He could never forget the woman, who had helped lead his defeat. The woman who had very nearly been his...he closed his eyes tightly in an attempt to regain himself. A hundred years of servitude to the Hellsings, had not completely subdued his urge to lay claim to her. He had spent the last hundreds trying to find some semblance of the man the monster use to be, but the sight and smell of Mina threatened to regress him.
Alucard continued to tell himself that she was not his to own or claim. He had no more right over her than he had over Integral. Thinking of Integral's stern gaze helped greatly in controlling himself once more.
Mina... he said, aiming his thoughts at her. He wanted her to know he was there, watching from the shadows.
