Rachel's patience - already threadbare thin - began to disappear bit by bit as she waited for Nathan to explain his brother's actions. The urge to scream, to kick something, to hit something (or someone) was so strong that it was difficult for her to refrain. Such violent type reactions weren't normal for her and, ultimately, it was the shock that she was capable of considering such things that stayed her hand until Nathan had finished drawing his explanation for the kidnapping of her sister.
Staring at the pictures, one after the other, realization finally dawned and she nodded. The expression on her face still wasn't a pleasant one but at least the urge to cause him bodily injury in place of his brother had subsided. Taking the pen and paper from him, she stared hard at the blank sheet for a moment and tried to figure out how to put into a drawing what she wanted to ask.
Finally, after a glance at her watch, she drew a clock that showed exactly one hour from the current time. Beneath the clock were stick figures representing Annie (obvious by the stuffed bunny in her arm) and Peter (obvious by his scar), alongside the figures of both herself and Nathan. She had no real threat to back up her time limit with, so she didn't bother making one, but instead calmly handed the page back to Nathan with the hardest, most determined expression she had in her arsenal.
Nobody, but nobody, kidnapped Annie. She didn't care what the reason might be.
