Instead she closed her eyes.
Am I dead? Is Kit dead? No. She could feel herself within the Force, the life within her and Obi-wan and somehow she knew that whatever was happening now was something altogether different than anything anyone had experienced. She tried to process what this all meant. She tried to search her feelings for the truth. But, no easy answers would come. If she was alive then there was still hope. Where there was hope then there was still light.
She felt selfish for letting her mind wonder as he spoke about the atrocities he'd gone through. She needed a moment to let his words soak in. It wasn't easy.. .Her mind was throwing her over for a loop. She opened her eyes and stared across at him. There was incredible sadness and loss. Words tried to form but nothing came out. There was too much emotion and she needed to process it before she could even attempt to ask questions. She wanted to bat the cup across the room and hear it shatter into pieces but that would be too easy. That wouldn't be a thoughtful reaction to Obi-Wan's sadness. He was so vulnerable. Every word he had said had been drenched in heartache. She clenched her fist but then let go of the anger and reached over instead to console them both by touching his hand.
