Exiting yet another park on her list, Sarah crossed it off on the map and started off down the sidewalk, wanting to walk awhile rather than grab a bus to the next place on the list
Her phone rang and she looked at it a moment, sighed at the display, and then answered. "Hi. No, nothing here either." There was pause and then Sarah huffed slightly, distracted enough by the voice on the phone that she didn't see the purple-skinned girl simply appear a few feet away. "I know how many days it's been! Ugh. Yes. We're going to find the duck. Have a little faith."
There was another pause and then she growled, though her expression wasn't truly one of real agitation. "Oh my God. You're kind of a pain in the ass, did you know that?" She rolled her eyes but her tone was mostly patient, certain of what she was saying because she believed it. "There's at least one in the city to find. I know it. There has to be."
She listened for a moment, then held her phone out in front of her face and stuck her tongue out at it, the person on the other end still talking when she put it to her ear again. "What? Yes, I'll put money on it. $100. Yes, that's what I said. Fine, you're on."
She snorted and then shut off the phone with a stab of her finger, then looked up. And promptly blinked a bit, as if refocusing, for she had now spotted the girl she had missed before.
