"You just told me he was at the beach with Cathy," Lindsey retorted, slightly cranky that the visit was starting to ruin his appetite. So much for a quiet lunch away from the office and business. But he was damned if he was going to let her know that. He picked up the plate just in time to serve her purpose.
As Cordelia rattled off her spiel to the poor idiot that fell for that smile, Lindsey met his dark look with one of his own less than impressed expressions. The corner of Lindsey's mouth pulled into a smirk as the man began to walk away.
"Honey, are you sure you should be talking about your coworkers like that?" he asked, speaking loud enough that it just might've reached the man heading inside. It took two to play a game. He picked up his piece of pizza and took a bite of it, pulling the piece away till the remaining cheese strings broke.
"And that's what got her killed. Seems like people try to do the right thing and they end up dead." And as if to prove his point, Cordelia mentioned the perfect example. "So how is Lorne? You know, I still don't blame him, Poor guy, always the one against violence and he was forced to be the one to pull the trigger." Lindsey shook his head, staring down at the sidewalk.
