"Oh please," Cordelia replied flippantly, "as though I'm really going to tell Public Enemy Number One what my Champion has been up to as of late." The rest of what she was going to say (which really wasn't anything, to be honest) stopped when he went on to suggest that she should kill in cold blood. Then continued by trying to lessen Katara's death.
If Cordelia hadn't had a significant dislike for Lindsey before, she definitely did now. In fact, she felt her anger spike to the point that she had to remind herself she was in public and therefore attacking him was a no-no. Too many witnesses.
Instead she opted to rely on her best weapon of all. Her words.
First, though, she wanted some pizza of her own. So she turned her attention to a man heading inside the pizza place and flashed him a brilliant smile. "Excuse me. I have a really big favor to ask of you."
The man blinked, gave her a goofy grin, and nodded. Cordelia turned up the charm a bit more.
"Well, see, I really want a piece of pizza. But my boyfriend over here," she tipped her head toward Lindsey, "spent all of our money on food for him... and a hooker last night. Is there any way I could get you to get a piece for me? Please?"
The man stared at her for a second, Cordelia's smile grew brighter, and he finally nodded. Shooting Lindsey a glare he muttered a dark, "Loser," before heading inside the pizzeria. Once he was gone, she looked back to Lindsey and never once missed a beat.
"Wow, does he know how to peg it or what? Because only a loser would actually consider Katara a mere casualty of war. Truth be told, she was a Champion and died a hero's death." Her smile turned icy. "Unlike some people present, who went the way of the dodo courtesy of a shooting from an empath."
