"It is, actually," Gabriel said quietly, noticing the shifting dynamics of the situation and taking a step back to put some distance between the two of them. Hopefully that would help her feel more comfortable. It was hard to say exactly what kind of reaction she would have to this information, whether she would take him at his word or just think him a nutter and bolt. He really didn't want to have to explain to Nathan and Peter that Heidi and the boys were somewhere in the city but damned if he knew where.
"And I also happen to have another friend who goes by the name of Nathan. And I'm going to take a guess and say that you only just arrived when I heard the tires screech," He said, slipping a hand into his pocket as he looked up at Heidi. "Would I be anywhere close to correct?" He asked, offering her a very sheepish smile. "Because if I am, I think there's...probably a rather complicated explanation that should be imparted, as well as two individuals that should be informed as to the nature of my current delay."
