"Wrong again, Hop-A-Long," a voice replied from somewhere behind the demon. As the creature turned, Cordelia caught House's gaze and smirked. "Just as soon as this guy is dealt with? Your ass is mine, you quack." And then she turned to the demon.
"We can do this the easy way, or the hard way. Your choice."
The demon snarled, saliva that was a potent as any acid splattering in every direction. Cordelia hissed as some hit her arm and instantly burnt through the material of her shirt. She felt the skin beneath blister and immediately start to sting.
"Okay," she remarked casually as she ignored the pain, raising her crossbow without hesitation. "Have it your way." And she fired.
Missing by a scant few centimeters, she cursed quietly and fumbled for another bolt as the creature gave a roar of rage and began to advance. Stepping backward to avoid the swipe of the thing's claws, she announced loudly over the screams of anger coming from the demon, "Time for Plan B, Nathan. Torch his ass! I need five seconds, tops."
