She danced briefly from foot to foot as they approached the store, then seemed to grow almost awestruck as they stepped inside. Things were so... different, here! She'd never seen some of the toys they offered, and she walked the front area, simply browsing, for a few seconds before spying the stuffed animals. Not nearly as sophisticated as some of the other things around, but her smile brightened and she headed directly to it without preamble.
"Jacen, look!" she exclaimed as she reached for a stuffed duck that looked similar to the one she'd seen on the television. There was a barking sound, then, faint and very real sounding. Allana seemed to perk up at the noise and put the duck down, turning with excitement toward the direction the barking had come from.
It turned out not to be real. It was a recording, most likely, inside a fuzzy, furry fake animal. The lettering across the box promised 'real, life-like sounds' and 'actually learns tricks', but Allana didn't care about any of that.
"Oh, it's so cute!" she announced, hugging the packaging to her chest, small arms wrapped tightly around it. She peered up at Jacen through her mess of blond (it was still so weird, not seeing her normal red hair, she decided) locks. "I want this one. Please? I'll take very good care of it." She nodded solemnly, eyes wide and smile bright. She was rocking back and forth on her feet, anxiously awaiting his answer and hoping she wouldn't have to put the 'almost real' puppy back.
