WHO: Padmé and Sabé WHAT: Meeting. WHEN: 10AM WHERE: The Sanctuary RATING: TBD STATUS: In Progress
The building was hers. It was hard for Padmé to believe, good fortune not something she'd seen in quite some time, yet it was nevertheless true. The building was hers.
The father of the girl she and Anakin had helped. The husband of the woman Anakin had saved. He owned property, it seemed. Was a well-known businessman. An honest businessman. He had offered a building to her cause as soon as he'd learned of it, arriving personally on her doorstep one evening to thank her for what she'd done. It had been a humbling experience.
And now here she stood, in her new building. The future home of The Sanctuary. She could hardly wait.
It wasn't enormous, at least not overly so. It wasn't as nice as the Hyperion, either, with so many individual rooms. She could only hold about half as many before they'd have to start sharing, but bunking wasn't something that worried her when it came to small children. The location had been her biggest concern.
Not anymore, though. The building happened to be in an ideal spot. A little further from Annie's than she would have liked, really, but near a park as well as a playground area. The beach wasn't too far and the traffic was mostly on foot. The building was on a corner with a view of the ocean just off in the distance.
Smiling to herself, the former Queen ran a hand along the banister that ran up to the second floor. It was three floors, really, but the third was her personal quarters. There was room for Luke, and Anakin, along with an extra room. A kitchen area had been built in after the building was made along with a study. It was accessible via stairs and the elevator.
For now, though, she stood on the bottom floor. She was waiting for Sabé to arrive, so she could show her friend the location. She wanted her involvement in this, wanted to work with her again. It had been far too long and this city would be easier to tolerate with her assistance. Turning, she glanced toward the open front doors and willed the woman to appear there. She wanted to share her good news.
