Obi-Wan smiled when she mentioned that she'd still be interested in working at the shelter even if she didn't get to be a Jedi. Something about that just made him feel at ease. He got the impression she knew where her place was in the Force. She had plans. She was working towards some kind of goal. It was nice to meet someone so confident in what they were doing with their lives.
"Unfortunately, I think I've learned my lesson in taking on Padawans who were older than the age law made by the Council. I won't likely make that mistake again."
Oh, if only he knew.
"You know, how about you just come in to help out sometime this week. Tomorrow, maybe? Or whenever you're available. I'll talk to the Sisters about it tonight after my shift. They won't say no. I am completely confident that they won't. Trust me. I will put in more than just a good word for you. And when you come in I'll show you around. Not that there's much to figure out, but just a little guided tour. To help get you going."
He paused for a moment, watching as she carefully drank down most of her coffee. She had a very pleasant face to go with her disposition. It was a nice change to the stress he'd felt while having to keep a certain air about himself during his meeting with Jaina and Leia. He didn't have to be General Kenobi around Sarah. He could be much more relaxed. More like himself.
"And if you want to keep with the current decor ... You can borrow my cloak."
She wouldn't be a real Jedi, but to the people eating around them, Obi-Wan wasn't a real one either.
His face lit up again when she offered to take him to this market. Perhaps it was a little silly of him to be so excited. After all, he had much greater things to attend to than his own curiosity. But he couldn't help it. Sometimes he just had to give into his intrigues.
