Not knowing just what situation she'd truly walked into, when Sarah turned to face the man approaching, her face split into a huge grin of approval. She'd been expecting something along the lines of generic Halloween costumes, given this was a shelter, but this? This was incredible. This was a better costume than most lower-budget stage productions ever saw.
"Coffee would be nice, but I'm actually here to see about volunteering," she said, looking around and then back at him, each time her smile widening as her gaze settled on him. "I heard this shelter was something beyond the ordinary and I think my skills might fit right in."
She glanced down at his clothes and back up. This was incredible. He could be Ewan McGregor's twin. "At least I hope so. I can even provide everything I'd need." She'd need to get a sewing machine, but that shouldn't be a problem, and the city was full of places to get the fabric cheaply. Props were a different story. "Well, except the light saber. You can't exactly get those at Wal-Mart."
Not like his, anyway. It looked like something from one of the top prop people in New York. That meant it likely cost more than several months of her old salary and she was trying to save up as far as this new job where she was now making more. This place was impressive. She was gripped by an even greater urge to find a way to be able to volunteer here, because this was perfect.
