The girl didn't need to know. Spiderman's eyes narrowed onto the target the instant that he spotted him following the blonde girl and he quietly moved further down along the building that he had been perched upon. When it looked as though the vampire were prepared to launch itself on the girl, Peter kicked away from the roof of the building and dove down into the dark streets below. Webbing escaping from the rest of his right hand, he used his left to grasp onto the sticky substance so that he'd be able to hold himself upright as he swung himself toward the advancing vampire. Releasing his grip, Spiderman lashed out his legs and kicked the vampire square in the chest, sending the creature tumbling down and into the shadows. Skillfully landing in a crouch, Peter quickly forced himself to stand upright.
The vampires eyes glowed in the dark as he straightened himself out as well. "Looks like we're both big fans of sneaking up on girls in the dark," Spiderman teased. "You don't quite have the look that I was aiming for, but --" His head snapped the side as he dodged a punch that the vampire sent in his direction. " -- I think you'll do well enough." Arm spinning out to the side, Spiderman grappled the vampire and sent him flying toward the brick well to his left. Then he twisted his wrist out, sent a thick string of webbing whizzing at the creature, and shot it out to attach itself to the vampires arms and legs. Soon enough, the vampire was good and pinned to the wall. A stream of curse words spun itself from the creatures mouth, so Peter silenced him by sticking some webbing over his jaw. All went silent on the vampires end.
For the first time since the attack, Spiderman turned to look at the girl. "You shouldn't be out here by yourself, Miss." Because of the large amount of distance between them, Peter was incapable of determining that the girl was in fact Gwen.
