Hurting for his brother, knowing this was far harder on Peter than it ever could be for himself for both the events of Peter's timeline and his relationship with their mother all his life, Nathan reached out with one hand, the other arm still securely wrapped around Angela, and briefly squeezed Peter's arm. I'll follow your lead on it then. But don't you forget I've got your back. Always.
They needed to get back now, however, before any more vampires had a chance to come this way. Not that Nathan wouldn't stab every last one he could reach if they tried to come close, but it was time to leave. Of course, he wasn't about to ask Peter to start using his abilities given what had just passed between them mentally, and he wasn't going to go wandering through the streets with his mother not understanding what was going on when anything might hop out of the shadows, forcing Peter to torch them or something else equally jarring. It left one obvious option and he looked skyward for a moment before looking back down. It was dark, he'd just have to watch his speed to avoid making several city blocks of residents jump.
"Ma?" he said, bending his head a bit to check on her. "We're gonna go someplace safe now. Fastest way there is if I take us. I need to know you're okay enough for me to do this."
