Anakin knew she was going to be cross with him over this. He had hoped that they would be able to avoid having this conversation, hoped that he'd be able to sneak Luke off to bed before she got home and make him promise not to say anything to his mother until he'd talked to her, but obviously, none of that was going to happen. And, as much as Anakin liked to avoid conversations that weren't to his liking, there wasn't much he could do to get out of this one if there was any hope of keeping his marriage intact.
With a sigh, he began to explain. "I knew he was at the zoo. I was keeping tabs on him within the Force. I got...distracted, however, by the arrival of Jaina's younger brother, who was severely injured. The moment I felt the disturbance in the Force, though, I left Jaina to tend to Anakin and headed off to see to Luke. When I arrived, however, a young man with power unlike anything I've ever felt before had already stopped the creature."
