When the gloved hand tightened on her mouth and she felt swept away by the shadows, Mina tried her damnest to release herself. Her curses and screams were muffled just like her attempts to leave. She couldn’t see anything and she felt a chill in her spine and a horrible burning in the scars of her neck, recalling that Count for a fleeting second.
That horrible, single instant passed when she could distinguish the figure of the oaf who had rudely ambushed her. Nyctalope was the first thing that came up her mind, but Orlando took care of him then…
He wanted silence. As afraid she could be, Mina fought her fears and opened her mouth, terse in a frown but understood when she saw them.
The newcomers didn’t resemble any sort of friendly chaps. Although they didn’t appear too dangerous behind their weapons. She recalled the Devil Doctor’s goons and their empty eyes. These ones were men with human passions, which made them less frightening.
“Good Heavens!” she explained upon hearing the fight and the outcome. She had wanted to interrogate the thing… the man who had been before, but it was too late. He had made a quick departure. The upcoming footsteps and yells about the police comforted her to know she would finally get answers.
