"You were head of that really big building that looked like it wasn't even touched? Must've been one hell of a falling out," Adam stated, shaking his head. Not that the hotel seemed all that bad, but outside it looked as if it had taken some brunt of the Hell that had gone down.
"Whoa, a vampire that actually gives a shit about the world. You and Aaron should form a club. There needs to be more guys like you." He hopped up on the counter, sitting down and regarding the man and woman in front of him. "The interracial council. Represenatives of all manner of otherworldly creatures. Vampires, werewolves, witches, sorcerers, necromancers, and so on. We work to keep our world secret from the 'normal'," he made air quotation marks, "people of the world. In the same breath, we also make sure that our part of the world stays in line and doesn't bring harm to those normal types. Except when they completely deserve it."
His expression hardened as he remembered the few exclusions to the world before continuing. "I like you," he said, winking at Katara. "Right to the point. Anyway, I'm here as a represenative of the council. Something huge is going down here and it's a threat of exposure as well as to lives. And we're trying this whole proactive approach with the new generation. The last generation was more about caution and..." he trailed off. "You probably don't want to hear those politics. Anyway, I was sent to help. And I've got resources if you guys need them." He grinned mischeviously. "I'm also pretty damn good in a fight."
