"It is amazing to hear what can happen in only a generation."
Somehow the younglings of his time had managed to overthrow the trouble his generation had inadvertently allowed to happen. Obi-Wan was glad to hear that the Empire didn't last any longer than it had. In just the short time he had lived in its imperialistic shadow, he had seen far too many horrors. Too much pain and suffering. No one should have had to experience that.
He only hoped that Leia's generation and those that followed learned from the mistakes of his time and kept the galaxy peaceful.
"Bail Organa was a good man. It was an honor to serve with him. Very wise and very generous. You could not have found a man more willing to be a father if you'd searched every corner from the inner planets to the outer rim."
Obi-Wan wanted to say something about how he hoped she'd had a happy childhood with the Organas, but he felt that might have been too personal. It might have been awkward for her knowing that he had been there at her birth. That he had been one of the few to agree on who would become her family, on where her home would be. He knew that, were he in her position, he might find himself uncomfortable with those thoughts.
"Senator Amidala is a very noble woman. I know of very few people who cannot speak fondly of her. But that is something you must learn for yourself. And agree or disagree with. As is with all relationships, familial and otherwise."
That was sort of his way of insinuating but not commenting on Anakin. If she asked him about his former student, then he would state his opinion. He would try not to be biased. But he didn't expect that Anakin would come up in this conversation. Vader, maybe. But not Anakin Skywalker.
