While it most definitely wasn't the most sophisticated thing Allana had ever seen in her tender four years of life, it was something that was bright, colorful, and obviously meant to children. Therefore, she was instantly enthralled.
She nodded slowly, her attention glued to the screen with wide-eyed fascination. The cartoon animals were talking (the one with the beak couldn't say a word without spitting, it seemed) and they kept trying to flatten one another. A few seconds into the show and Allana giggled, glancing toward Jacen with a smile before looking back to the television in time to see the beaked creature get shot.
Gasping in horror, the girl leaned forward until she was very nearly falling off the bed. Her hand went to her mouth, her eyes grew even wider, only to have the smoke clear and the animal still standing. Granted he was blackened, and his beak was on backward, but the moment he spoke she giggled again and sat up straight once more.
A few seconds after that, and she looked back to her father. "Come watch!" she insisted, patting the spot beside her on the bed, her smile nearly filling her entire face. Quickly she looked back to the television, in time to laugh outright as the on-screen antics continued.
