"Ooh... The incident. That's so Koontz of you. I'm shaking in my socks."
House didn't care if she was impressed or not. This was still his hallucination remember. So it would be like he wasn't impressed with himself. Since he had somehow conjured up the image of the green skinned woman.
"Wait. You're one of those Orion slave girls, aren't you? I didn't realize there was a Trek convention in town. Otherwise I'd be all over that like Klingons on targ!"
He stepped back into the room a bit, leaving the door open for her to either come in or leave. House wasn't going to insist on seeing her files. He'd wait for her to offer them. Or not offer them. Whatever it was she was planning.
"Did I say I had a lab? I was being facetious. By lab I really meant dingy motel room. It's code talk. If you mail in three proofs of purchase you get the decoder ring."
House was a man of unending sarcasm. He limped back over to the bed.
"I'm told that the best way to explain it is just to say that I'm new to these here parts and I haven't reestablished my practice yet."
He paused for a moment.
"Intense green hyperpigmentation due to multiple organ failure. What was this incident again? Or chlorine. Or you got into your mother's food dye one too many times around Easter."
