He wasn't exactly the most perceptive when it came to emotions, and picking up on how people were acting straight away. That usually came after they had walked away and had time to think about it, so he was completely oblivious to her inner turmoil. The person who he had questioned about the lighter's bus arrived, and instead of waiting for Chris to finish with his greetings he commented that he could keep the lighter. His mouth turned down in an impressed frown, and his eyebrows seemed to shrug.
He turned his attention back to the blonde, grinning his broad grin at her. "Missed you too. How was Elgin, anyway?" he replied off-handedly as he lit his joint and sat to roll up another one for her. Bugger, almost out. He didn't bother to comment on the fact that it hadn't really been too long since he had last seen her before the holidays. As he rolled it, he began chattering away about home and what she had missed while she was in Scotland, "..and you missed out on Maxxie's play which, by the way," his hand came up to wave the lighter up and down and his eyes locked with hers out of habit, "was fucking brilliant. Michelle was sick so this other bird had to step in for her and at the end - bitch slap. Fucking perfect."
