Looking up apologetically, Nathan murmured a quiet apology and turned her arm under the water to get it over quickly for her. The apologetic set switched to one of sympathetic amusement as she apologized, his gaze flickering between her and his task.
"It's all right, I understand," he said with a brief chuckle. "Believe me, I understand."
He cast a glance in the direction of the room Annie occupied as he reached for the gauze he had brought to dry the wound, expression thoughtful and a little worried. "Whatever it is, I doubt it can get into the hotel. That doesn't tell us what's happening, but," he half-shrugged, guiding her arm out from under the water to carefully dry it, "we'll find out soon enough."
