Rachel smiled at his statement about her name, nodding her head a bit. "It's Rachel," she answered. "But everyone calls me Sister."
She was hesitant - she didn't even know this man - but ultimately decided he couldn't really be a danger to her. If he were, Annie wouldn't be around him for very long. Besides, Rachel considered herself a fairly good judge of character and this man gave off a vibe that, while it wasn't exactly friendly and warm, wasn't threatening. Although something told her he could probably be threatening if necessary.
Crossing to where he sat, she took a seat and folded her hands into her lap. Her eyes widened a bit and her attention cut back to him at his statement. "She did?" she questioned. "I'm... well, I'm impressed. Annie doesn't normally make many connections with people. There are really only a few she-"
"SISTER!"
On her feet in an instant, Rachel turned toward the stairs at the sound of the younger girl's voice. Her smile, which had been a little worn around the edges, brightened immediately at the sight of the girl and already she was moving toward her.
"Annie!" she replied, relief clearly evident in her tone. Taking the stairs two at a time, she reached Annie and threw her arms around her in a fierce hug, pulling the girl close. "I've been so worried," she murmured softly into her hair.
After a second Annie squirmed a bit and Rachel released her, sitting back on her heels as she ran her hand lovingly down her cheek. "You scared me," she stated, tears blurring her vision for a moment. "I thought I'd lost you..."
Holding up her stuffed rabbit, Annie offered her sister a smile. "Bunny," she stated before dropping a kiss on the animal's head.
Laughing softly, Rachel nodded. "Bunny," she replied. Rising back to her feet, she glanced back to Peter. "Thank you," she murmured, before turning back to Annie... and finally noticing the man there behind her. "And you, too, I guess." A brief pause and she half-laughed as she questioned, "What is this place, anyway?"
