He had walked around to stand closer to her and when she looked at him, he was well aware that he didn’t know what to do with himself now. He didn’t know what he should be thinking or how he should go about approaching Lex, if he should approach him like he normally did, or if he should bring something up. She was asking him not to and if she was asking that of him he knew that there was a reason behind it.
She seemed sincere and that was enough to bring up regret. Maybe he shouldn’t have taken her, maybe it was wrong, maybe he didn’t get Lex at all. Maybe he was being led along by a string of lies that he hadn’t seen through until she’d started talking. Lex Luthor was a powerful man, everybody knew that. Lex didn’t have the kind of power that he did, but he had power nonetheless, influence that was bright and blinding. He had something that most people didn’t want to mess with.
“I’m glad you told me. But don’t worry about anything. I can take care of myself and he’ll never know about our conversation. You’ll be fine.” Again, Eddie wasn’t as worried about himself as he was about her. If Lex hurt her, directly or indirectly, it might be his fault. He didn't want that.
