Peter chuckled at Annie's reaction, and brushed her shoulder with his free hand. "Hiro is my best friend," he said, for her benefit, added feelings of care and comfort to the name and association.
And a look with a wink went to Luke. "Hiro is the one who can tell out all about katanas and samaurai. And he might even show you some kendo. He's the one who taught me." He hadn't moved his arms from around either of them, and wouldn't until they withdrew. Peter adored kids in general, but he had special affection for the ones here. Annie, for her gentleness and the beautiful and terrible way she saw the world; Luke for his passionate protectiveness for those he cared about. The fact that he'd grown up on Star Wars was a distant second.
Peter looked to Hiro next. "Hiro Nakamura, this is little Miss Annie, and young Master Luke Skywalker."
Seeing movement in the corner of his eye, Peter saw Nathan moving away. I'm sorry, Nate. Come back? He hadn't quite settled again, but he was getting there. Or the trembling had gone down enough that he didn't notice anymore.
