Peter was startled by Annie's sudden appearance. He knew Nathan hadn't meant to hurt him like that, he knew he was just too goddamn oversensitive, but he also hadn't been able to help it. And it had brought in the calvary. Now, Peter was too worried about Nathan to be concerned for himself.
Peter tightened his grip on Hiro for a moment before letting go of his friend and dropping to his knees. One arm wrapped tightly around Annie, tucking his head against hers, and the other hugged Luke in as close.
"I'm okay," he said to them. "Thank you. I'm okay. He didn't mean it. He's sorry. It's okay."
For Annie, he focused his thoughts. He didn't mean to upset me. He didn't want me to leave, and I left anyway. But I shouldn't have.
Then he looked up at his brother. "It's okay, Nate. I know."
