Peter looked back at his friend, and nodded. "Yup. As far as he's concerned, anyway. His parents are here, too. And wait until--"
Peter quieted, as the stairs descended into the lobby, and he saw the glare that Nathan was utilizing. It had been five years since he'd last seen it, and Peter was a different person... but the intensity of that look still had the power to make him go silent, feeling a burn of shame in the center of his gut.
He went down the rest of the stairs slowly, watching Nathan from the corner of his eye as he did.
