Katara sighed as she looked from one girl to the other, already able to sense the awkwardness of the situation. This was going to be a long afternoon if they couldn't find some way to co-exist without all the added emotional strain. Shoving a few extra stakes into a bag, she held it out for the blonde Claire to take, then did the same for the brunette version. By that point, the two other groups had moved toward the door and she took the opportunity to address the two women without others overhearing.
"I know you're both probably angry with me, and I can't say that I blame you. But I know Peter would want me to keep you both safe. That doesn't mean we're not getting involved - if we find out where he is, we'll be one of the first ones there - but until we have some idea what we're up against, I can't risk whoever took him turning their attention to either of you. So I won't apologize for grouping you together." Her blue eyes went from one woman to the other, encompassing them both in a single look. "But I will ask that you set aside whatever issues you have and focus on our goal."
Finished speaking, Katara flipped the lid off her pouch that held her normal bending water and, with a wave of her hand, sent the liquid from the various bottles of water assembled around the lobby into it. Sealing it tight once more, she added, "Now let's go. Something tells me we're in for a long afternoon." As she walked toward the door, she pulled out her cellphone and began working on typing out a message to the remaining members of the Hyperion, along with a quick note to whoever had taken Peter. She doubted they'd reply, but figured it couldn't hurt to at least try to contact them.
