Chloe didn't really know what she was doing here. She didn't mind helping or anything, but this was a pretty big operation that she'd somehow become a part of. Bizarro had brought her here, because he thought that they could protect her from Lex. Lex must not even know she was freed yet, or he'd be looking for her. Chloe really didn't know what would happen when Lex found out where she was, and she really didn't want anyone to get hurt because of her. She'd married him just to save Lois.
It seemed like just yesterday that she was holding her cousin's body and crying. And then she'd brought her back, and Chloe had woken up in the morgue. It was a difficult thing to die in order to save someone you loved, but Chloe would gladly give her own life for Lois.' Lois Lane was the strongest person that Chloe knew, and she didn't have any super powers at all. Chloe would also die to protect Clark Kent, he was her best friend and she loved him dearly.
Years ago, she was in love with him, and to be truthful, a part of Chloe always would be. She was content for now though to be his best friend. She was sitting on the circular couch, with her hand on her stomach. Sometimes she still couldn't believe that she was pregnant with twins, Lex's twins. It wasn't exactly the most easy position for her to be in, because she knew Lex would put everyone through hell if he had to in order to get back what he thought was rightfully his.
Chloe tried not to think about it most of the time, she tried to focus on whatever project they had her working on. She was ignoring the whole…bed rest thing too, she just couldn't do it. She was still careful, but she wasn't glass and she would not be breaking so easily.
Veronica came down the stairs with Backup in tow. She'd probably take him out soon, it was day, she would be fine. Few people knew how scared Veronica truly was because she didn't show it. Her thoughts betrayed her of course, but not everyone in the hotel was Peter Petrelli. She even put on a brave face for Logan, so he wouldn't worry. And if anything would prove that she was okay again, it was going outside. It was her perfect opportunity to build the lie that had become her life.
She was playing with Lilly's necklace. She still missed Lilly every single day. She wondered where she'd be right now if Lilly lived. She wouldn't be here in this place, at least she didn't think so. She definitely wouldn't be so untrusting of people. Lilly's death had changed everything for Veronica. It changed who she was, and she could never be that naïve, innocent, little perky girl again. The real world didn't work that way. It was harsh and it was cruel and it was where Veronica lived.
Most of the time she didn't have to think about it though. That was the good thing about working for a big place like this, there was always a lot to do. She spotted Chloe sitting on the couch and gave a small wave.
There sure are a lot of tiny blondes running around here…
Veronica was probably the tiniest, not that it was a competition or anything, she was just used to being really small. Backup barked a greeting to Chloe, and his ears perked up when he saw the other girl smile. The pitbull was pretty used to the people that were here, but he would still go for throats if anyone hurt Veronica. He was one protective poochie.
Veronica sat down on the circular couch, not too close to Chloe though, she wanted to give her some room, and Backup just lay down at Veronica's feet. Neither had spoken yet, instead they both seemed comfortable with just sitting there.
