On any other person, this apparent concern would be endearing, and the insistence of being a 'protector' might even be touching. On Jareth, she could only find it creepy, just as she found everything else. Perhaps it was entirely justified and perhaps it was something she added exaggeration to in order to protect herself, but no matter the reasons behind it, that was how she felt. This exchange had gone on too long, she needed to just walk away now and put an end to it with her departure.
"Just stop it, Jareth," she said fiercely, shifting the boxes to be heard by not easily seen. "I'm not fifteen anymore, you can't intimidate me, you can't mislead me and you have no reason to be here. I don't need you now and I never will. Good bye."
